Paige Laureen Hubl, a former volleyball star for the University of Nebraska Huskers, has died.

Hubl’s death occurred earlier this week, according to a report from journalist Lincoln Arneal who covers Nebraska volleyball for Huskers Illustrated.

“Tragic news as former Husker Paige Hubl passed away earlier this week,” Arneal shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, November 27th, 2024. “She played for Nebraska between 2009-12 and was a co-captain her senior year. Hubl was a prep standout for Lincoln Southeast and later served as head coach for the Knights for four years.”

Paige Hubl made her mark for the Huskers, appearing throughout her college career from 09′-12′ but landing starring roles in her junior year, as well as her senior year when she was named co-captain. As a senior, Hubl played all games as a key defensive contributor and serving specialist. She ended the year with averages of .59 digs per set and .06 aces per set while totalling 67 total digs on the year and seven service aces. Hubl previously starred for the Lincoln Southeast High School where she finished her four year high school career among the school’s all-time leaders in both aces and digs. She also set school single-match records for both digs (30) and service aces (six).

Her alma mater called on her later in life as LSE named Hubl their head volleyball coach in July 2018. She coached the Knights for four years. Hubl also worked for the student-athlete sports info website, Hudl.
