Ghanaian preacher and gospel musician Sonnie Badu has shared how gospel artist Perez Musik was left heartbroken when most of his peers failed to attend his wedding. Perez Musik, known for his hit song “Hewale Lala,” tied the knot with his wife, Abigail, on November 23, 2024. However, only Sonnie Badu and gospel artist Siisi Baidoo were present to support him, a situation that deeply disappointed the groom.
In an interview on Okay FM, Sonnie Badu recounted how much effort it took to attend the wedding and how his presence meant a lot to Perez. “I value relationships, and I cherish humanity,” Sonnie Badu said. “When Perez invited me to his wedding, I told him I would come, but he thought I was joking. It was my first time going to Krokobite, and the road was quite challenging, but I made the effort because I wanted to show love.”
Badu revealed that Perez was so overwhelmed by his gesture that he asked him to sit beside him during the ceremony. “I was glad I came, but Perez was heartbroken. It would have been really sad if I hadn’t shown up. He was so overwhelmed that he asked me to sit beside him, but I felt shy,” he added.
Despite the disappointment of being largely unsupported by his colleagues, Perez Musik celebrated his special day with close family and friends. He later expressed his gratitude to God on Instagram, writing, “Blessed be the Lord who reigns forevermore! #restored.”
