Vote Wisely, Don’t Let Anyone Deceive You With Gari, Rice, Or Yam – Sonnie Badu Warns

Renowned Ghanaian preacher and gospel singer, Sonnie Badu, has delivered a passionate message to Ghanaians as the December 7, 2024, general elections approach.

Speaking in a recent interview on Accra FM, Badu urged citizens to reject gifts from politicians seeking votes, emphasizing the need to prioritize accountability and the nation’s welfare at the ballot box.

Reflecting on Ghana’s current economic challenges, Badu did not shy away from criticizing the government, describing it as a failed administration. He encouraged voters to consider the rising cost of living when making their decisions. “Don’t let anyone deceive you with gari, rice, or yam, and throw away your precious vote,” he cautioned. “The only time you hold real power is now, and you see it in how politicians suddenly visit your towns and villages, pretending to understand your struggles. Once they gain power, they’ll never come back.”

The gospel singer further stressed the importance of voting out leaders who have failed to deliver on their promises and contributed to the country’s hardships. “If you’re happy, vote. If you’re not, vote. Look at your circumstances and decide. Vote out those who did not help this country when they had the chance. I’m only sharing my principles,” he added.

Badu’s words strike a chord with many Ghanaians who are dissatisfied with the state of affairs and yearning for change. His appeal for voters to exercise their rights thoughtfully and not be swayed by short-term incentives is a timely reminder of the power of informed voting in shaping the nation’s future.
