Renowned gospel musician Piesie Esther recently opened up about handling social media trolls, revealing that she prefers to ignore them because many are paid to target public figures.
Speaking on Accra-based 3FM Drive on November 19, 2024, Esther explained that responding to such negativity isn’t worth her time and instead, she stays focused on her career and purpose.
“I have realized that some of these people who post comments on social media are paid to bring you down,” Esther said. “Some comments make you wonder why the person is writing this when you are just doing your work and promoting it,” she added. Despite the hurtful nature of these attacks, Esther remains firm in her decision to disregard them and keep her attention on her work.
Esther also addressed the ongoing debate about female gospel musicians being criticized for prioritizing fashion over ministry. She defended the importance of dressing well, explaining that appearance plays a role in drawing people closer to the message. “There is nothing wrong with gospel artistes, especially females, dressing to look good. It adds some focus to you and draws some people closer to you,” she said.
In October 2024, Esther released her new single, “At33ne,” which she describes as a celebration of God’s faithfulness in her life.
