Davido To Donate ₦300 Million To Orphanages And Drug Abuse Prevention For His 32nd Birthday

Nigerian music superstar Davido is gearing up to celebrate his 32nd birthday on November 21, 2024, with a generous act of charity. This year, he has announced plans to donate ₦300 million through his foundation, the Davido Adeleke Foundation, to support orphanages and a charity dedicated to preventing drug abuse and addiction among young people.

Davido shared his commitment on his official X account, stating, “Once again, this year, for my birthday, we are donating to orphanages and a charity that helps young people stay away from drug abuse and addiction. This year, we are allocating ₦300 million. More information will be shared soon.”

This marks the fourth consecutive year that Davido has made a significant donation on his birthday. In previous years, he donated ₦250 million in 2021, ₦237 million in 2023, and now ₦300 million in 2024. His ongoing generosity has garnered widespread praise, and his birthday donations have become a celebrated tradition.

The Davido Adeleke Foundation, established in 2022, aims to support vulnerable children and has raised millions of Naira for various charitable causes. This year, Davido is focusing on the important issue of drug abuse, a cause he has not publicly supported before, despite facing controversy in 2015 with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over the depiction of hard drugs in his music video for “Fans Mi.”

As his birthday approaches, fans and supporters eagerly await more details about the donation and celebrate Davido’s continued efforts to make a positive impact on society.
