Dominick Galarza, a Strongsville resident has been killed after a car crash in Columbia Township late Sunday.
Galarza was driving a 2011 Ford Fusion on Columbia West River Road near Sprague Road when he veered off-road whilst negotiating a curve.
He struck a guardrail after this miscalculation and went down an embankment.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Galarza was extricated from the vehicle and taken to Southwest General Health Center where he was later pronounced dead. The deceased had on his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
“Our Dominick was the most kind, sweet soul, dedicated son, loving brother to Isaiah, and friend to many. He loved dogs, watching UFC, dancing to Spanish music and tinkering on his car,” Dominick Galazar’s family said in a statement. “Dommy was deep and intellectual, an avid learner that had aspirations of becoming a therapist to help others. His smile would light up the room and he gave the best hugs. We’re heartbroken and devastated beyond words can express, he will be so missed, but his beautiful life will live forever in us. ”
Meanwhile, Strongsville City Schools also shared a statement signed by Superintendent Cameron Ryba: “It is with a heavy heart that I share that Dominick Galarza, 12th grade student at Strongsville High School, died in a car accident on Sunday evening….Our heartfelt sympathies go out to Dominick’s family and friends during this difficult time,”
