Jamaican dancehall star Spice has revealed that her love for Ghana began with the music of award-winning artiste Stonebwoy. During an interview on Okay FM while visiting Ghana, she shared how her first encounter with Stonebwoy’s music changed her perception of the country.
“I was surprised to know Stonebwoy is from Ghana when I first heard his song in Jamaica,” Spice said. “I thought it was a Jamaican delivering that sound, but I was told he’s from Ghana. That’s how I discovered the entire country.”
Spice, celebrated for her contributions to global dancehall music, expressed deep admiration for Ghanaian artistes and their role in elevating the country’s presence in the global music industry. Her interest in Ghana grew as she followed Stonebwoy’s work and explored the talents of other artistes from the region.
The Jamaican star is currently in Ghana to shoot the music video for Jille & Whine, a viral hit from Stonebwoy’s Up and Running album. This collaboration reflects the growing global influence of Ghanaian music, particularly in the dancehall and Afrobeat genres.
