Felicia McCrary, an Upper Learning Principal +at the Galloway School in Atlanta, Georgia, has died.
McCrary’s death was reported by The Galloway School in a post on social media shared Thursday, November 14th, 2024. No cause of death was listed.
“Today, our hearts are extremely heavy as we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our beloved friend, leader, and community pillar, Felicia McCrary,” the post read. “Felicia’s warmth, kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication to Galloway touched the lives of countless students, families, and colleagues for over 26 years.”
The tribute continued, noting that she will be truly missed due to her unwavering passion to the school community.
“Her vibrant spirit and passion for our community will be deeply missed and forever cherished,”
Felicia McCrary was the Upper Learning Principal at the Galloway School, a pre-k through 12 private learning institution in Atlanta, Georgia. She worked at the school for 27 years, starting out as an Upper Learning Teacher in August 1997 following her education at Wake Forest University, where she earned a BA and MA in Psychology and Education.
Over the years, she held several roles including Director of Student Life, Director of Strategic Engagement and in July 2022, was promoted to Upper Learning Principal.
Following news of her demise, friends have been mourning McCrary, remembering her as a great person and a great teacher.
“Ms. McCrary was one of the few people I’ve known who was beloved. Beloved by her students, colleagues, friends, family and anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her. The Galloway community and the world was a brighter place with Felicia McCrary in it,” one tribute read.
