In a surprising twist ahead of the 2024 Presidential Election, Phillip Appiah Kubi, also known as Roman Fada, Presidential candidate for the GFP was disqualified from the race. The Electoral Commission claims that “errors and illegalities” on his nomination forms led to his disqualification. But now, a new video has sparked a wave of controversy, hinting there may be more to the story.
In the video, a man alleges that two politicians, Dzataba and Akpaloo, approached Roman Fada with a shocking proposition, Chairman Wontumi of the NPP supposedly called, offering 5 billion old Ghana cedis if Roman Fada would back down and throw his support behind the NPP’s Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Roman Fada allegedly refused the offer, standing firm on the principles of the late Madam Akua Donkor, who trusted him to carry on the Ghana Freedom Party’s (GFP) mission.
What makes the claims even more explosive is the man’s assertion that he has evidence to back up his story. “I wouldn’t lie about this,” he says, “because if this goes to court, I can’t afford to make false statements.”
The timing of the disqualification has raised eyebrows, with some suggesting that Roman Fada’s refusal to accept the alleged bribe could have triggered a “convenient” disqualification.
