Social media influencer Twene Jonas had a close encounter with U.S. police after nearly being arrested while filming a live video.
According to a video Jonas shared, the incident occurred when a report was made against him for loitering near a temple and ‘yelling’ during his usual livestream.
Known for his sharp criticism of Ghanaian politics and social issues, Jonas recorded the confrontation in real-time.
In the footage, he can be seen interacting with the police, insisting on his innocence while they questioned him. One officer explained, “We got a call that you were here screaming, so we came to check on you.” Jonas responded, “Oh, I’m just on live video. Do you want to see it?” The officer, curious about his loud tone, asked, “Were you yelling at someone? I’m a content creator on social media,” Jonas clarified to the officers.
