Who is Simon Sassoon?

Simon Sassoon is a Cornell University grad and current strategy and operations lead at Melio in New York. 

Sassoon, a New York City native, graduated from Trinity School in NYC in 2018 with his diploma.

He went on to complete a Bachelor of Science program at the SC Johnson College of Business at Cornell University. He graduated magna cum laude in 2022 having minored in Philosophy.

Sassoon worked at NYC firms Acquisitions and Air, both as an intern. He started his professional career at Kepler Cannon, a Fintech, as an Associate Consultant in 2022. He was promoted to Consultant in April.

He left Kepler in June to join Melio as the Strategy & Operations Lead. He has been in the role since.

Highly accomplished Sassoon has been involved in some top deals at Melio, recently announcing an integration with Amazon Business.

Simon Sassoon has been running since middle school ran cross-country for Trinity. Several months back, he pledged to ran the 2024 NYC Marathon to support Charther High School for Law and Social Justice (CHSLSJ) to help out a friend.

NYC Marathon death

There was a death during the 2024 NYC marathon which occurred over the weekend.

The deceased fell from the third-story of an apartment building in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

The unidentified 24-year-old fell from the fire escape at approximately 12.30pm on Sunday at 6th Street and Bedford Avenue.

When police arrived at the scene, the man was unresponsive. They rushed him to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital where he was declared dead.

The deceased has yet to be identified. Some online reports named the deceased but no official identification has been made by authorities.
