Grant Martinez, Popular Tiktoker Arrested and Jailed for Contempt

Grant Martinez, a popular TikTok star with close to 500k followers and nearly 30m lifetime likes has been arrested and jailed for contempt.

Martinez was arrested Friday, November 1st 2024 around 8 p.m. by the Wayne Police Department and booked into the Wayne County jail on contempt charges around 9 p.m.

It is currently unclear what led to Martinez’s arrest but social media particularly TikTok and Reddit is blowing up with the news.

According to booking information, Grant Martinez, a white male, 24-years old and standing at 5’10”, 175 lbs with blue eyes and brown hair has been detained. His current status remains unclear.

The reason for his arrest is also murky. According to online speculation, it most likely has to do with him violating custody rules for the child he shares with Kylee DeWeese, a fellow Tiktoker with whom he had a very public relationship and then a horribly messy breakup.

In response to numerous comments on his page about his arrest, one person wrote: “Contempt of court because he took their daughter out of state without her permission she said it on live one night,”

The news of Grant Martinez being thrown into jail quickly went viral on social media particularly due to his most recent TikTok. Several hours before his arrest, he had shared a video with the caption: “Mood bc I’m single during holiday szn & im ready to spoil some ungrateful little sh*thead,”

The post, which many people described as toxic, left social media users with very little sympathy for him on his arrest.

One reactor said: “This is cringe to begin with but even funnier knowing he’s in jail lmfao,”

Grant Martinez and Kylee, who share daughter Kinley, had one of the most messiest and dramatic breakups in TikTok history. Amidst accusations and counter-accusations, Martinez was heavily lambasted for outing Kylee over her abortions and for trying to strong-arm her with controversial tactics amidst their child custody battle.

Martinez started posting on TikTok in 2020 and over the years has built a massive net worth of millions of dollars. He flaunts several luxury cars and a home in his videos. Martinez also rans a business, which has contributed to his net worth.
