In a recent episode of Rants, Bants, and Confessions on Glitch Africa, Shatta Wale stirred the pot, taking direct aim at his longtime rival, Stonebwoy. Shatta didn’t hold back, openly criticizing Stonebwoy for accepting what he deemed “cheap gigs” in America, with payouts as low as $5,000 to $7,000. To Shatta, these fees are an insult to Ghanaian artists’ worth on the international scene, and he made it clear that he’d never stoop that low, implying that Stonebwoy is willing to “sell himself short” just to impress.
But Shatta didn’t stop there. He threw in a jab at Stonebwoy’s appearance, calling him “swollen-headed” due to his recent successes.
Not one to be fazed, Stonebwoy appeared to offer a subtle response in a recent post, saying “My matter dey for their mouth, and them dey carry me like abele kotoku. Oleku!” He added another zinger: “Why waste time to reply a poor fool? It’s too much stress… all they need is the attention, not the answer!” Stonebwoy’s response seemed to show he’s unbothered, dismissing Shatta’s words as mere noise.
It seems this musical rivalry continues to brew, with each artist standing firm in their approach to success.
