Renowned Ghanaian boxer Braimah Isaac Kamoko, famously known as Bukom Banku, has expressed his desire to serve in a high-profile security role should the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, win the 2024 general elections. A longtime NDC supporter, Bukom Banku has been actively rallying support for Mahama ahead of the elections, showing his dedication to the party’s success.
In an interview with Asempa FM, Bukom Banku, speaking in Twi, shared his ambition: “The prophets have been making varying prophecies concerning which candidate would win the 2024 general elections. For me, I know Mahama will be the victor. I pray he wins so that he can give me the IGP position.” Although he admits he lacks formal experience in the police force, he is confident in his ability to maintain order and security in Ghana.
“The role does not need much paperwork,” he explained, emphasizing his commitment to promoting peace. “The ultimate objective is to ensure there is peace in the country. There will be no noise in the country, and there will be orderliness. The fact that I have not been to the police does not mean I am not qualified for the role.” As the December 7, 2024, elections approach, Bukom Banku remains hopeful, standing by Mahama and continuing to campaign in support of the NDC’s vision for Ghana.
