Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale has recently sparked conversation with his remarks about fellow musician Black Sherif’s fashion choices. Black Sherif is known for his unique and eclectic style, which often combines vintage and modern elements, helping him stand out in the music industry.

However, during an episode of Efia Odo’s podcast, Shatta Wale didn’t hold back his criticism. “They’re trying for him, but honestly, some of Black Sherif’s outfits are just confusing,” he stated. “As a hip-hop artist, why are you dressing like that? Look at Asake, his chains and baggy trousers work for him, and everything fits perfectly. Why do you buy your trousers from Kantamanto? Your details need to be right.”

Shatta Wale made it clear that personal branding is crucial, saying, “When you’re branding yourself, you need to keep it real. I’m short, so if I wear trousers that are way too big, I’ll just end up looking ridiculous.” He even threw some shade at other artists, criticizing, “When I see certain outfits, I can’t help but think, ‘Didn’t anyone tell you that you look like a skeleton?’ Sure, some of Black Sherif’s choices fit him, but a lot of them miss the mark completely.”

In a twist, he also praised King Promise, declaring, “Now that guy knows how to dress! His selection is on point.” It’s clear Shatta Wale is not holding back, and his comments have ignited a conversation about fashion and identity in the Ghanaian music industry.
