East Legon Accident – ‘It would’ve Been Better If Your Son Shot The Girls To Death’ – MC Yaa Yeboah Criticizes Salifu Amoako

Media personality and MC Yaa Yeboah has publicly criticized Bishop Elisha Salifu Amoako following his response to the tragic East Legon accident involving his 16-year-old son. The accident, which occurred on October 12, 2024, led to the deaths of two young girls, Justine Mary-Anne Enyonam Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh Boaten. Speaking on UTV’s United Showbiz on October 26, Yaa Yeboah expressed deep disappointment and frustration with the bishop’s defense of his son.

Bishop Amoako had described the incident as an unfortunate accident, explaining, “My son did not carry a gun to kill anybody. He involved himself in a terrible accident, and I am not the one who did it, nor his mother. It is because of my name that people are talking.” He emphasized that the tragedy was not an intentional act of violence, attempting to deflect some of the criticism directed at his family.

Yaa Yeboah, however, condemned the bishop’s remarks as insensitive, calling his son’s actions “reckless and avoidable.” She argued that the accident was preventable and that the bishop’s response downplayed the severity of the incident. “If your son had shot these people to death, it would have been better,” she said. “Do you know why? Because they wouldn’t have suffered the excruciating pain of burning alive. At least their families would have had bodies to bury.”

She continued, explaining that the painful experience these young girls went through was horrific, and Bishop Amoako’s remarks did not reflect empathy for the victims or their families. “We can’t even know which part of their charred bodies was retrieved for burial, whether it was their skull or bones. That is how sad it is. So, I repeat, Archbishop, if your son had shot them, it would have been better because that pain and torture they endured before they died would have been avoided.”

Yaa Yeboah went on to accuse the bishop of previously admitting to driving without a license in Ghana, suggesting he felt immune to legal consequences. She questioned his parenting, saying, “You knew your son drives recklessly, but you never cautioned him.”

This tragic event has shone a spotlight on the need for stricter enforcement of road safety laws, especially concerning underage drivers, and it raises questions about parental responsibility and accountability in ensuring their children’s safety on the road.
