David Jerome Shooting – GoFundMe Started for Brent Berkeley, Victim of Plymouth MA Road Rage Murder

David Jerome, 23, of Plymouth Massachusetts, has been arrested and charged in regards to the murder of one Brent Berkeley. Meanwhile, a fundraiser has been started for the victim.

Jerome shot and killed Berkeley, 41, following a road rage incident Friday afternoon in Plymouth. The shooting occurred while Jerome’s 18-month-old child was in his vehicle with him.

The two men were reportedly involved in a traffic incident of sorts, following which a physical altercation occurred leading to the shooting.

Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department deputies were called to the area of Middle Street regarding a shooting incident in a public parking lot at around 5:45 p.m.

On Saturday, the Plymouth County District Attorney Tim Cruz announced David Jerome has been charged with murder, several gun charges, and reckless endangerment of a child.

Meggie Linde, of Plymouth, started a GoFundMe to raise money for the surviving family of Brent Berkeley – his wife Jessie and two kids.

“Jessie is one of our own and has gone through an unimaginable tragedy. In the blink of an eye and a senseless act of violence Jessie is now raising two beautiful children as a solo parent. We are here to try and alleviate her financial burdens so she is able to focus her energy on her family,” Linde wrote.

The fundraiser has already raised close to $60,000.

The Speedwell Tavern in Plymouth also announced plans to hold a fundraiser for Berkeley. The shooting occurred outside the Tavern, where Jesse Berkeley works.

“We will be dedicating our entire day of operation on Friday at Speedwell to the family of the victims. If you are a member of the community looking to show support through Speedwell, this is the day to do it. More details will emerge as we recover, and everyone will have a chance to let their energy be felt. We will start a fundraiser to those who are and are not able to make it. We will donate every single dime raised on that day right to the family so finances are the last thing on their mind.” the establishment said.
