Sarah Danser was an American reality television personality, professional diver, boat captain, and adventure guide who gained public recognition through her appearances on survival reality shows including “Naked and Afraid.”

Danser was also known for her extensive work in marine exploration and adventure tourism in Hawaii, where she served as a PADI certified divemaster and sailing expert.

Sarah died on October 2024 from a car accident in Hawaii. She was 34.

Sarah Danser was born and raised in Castle Rock, Colorado. She grew up hiking the Colorado mountains with her parents, who were avid travelers. Her childhood was marked by numerous global adventures, including scaling volcanoes and hiking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. She learnt to snorkel at a young age.

One notable childhood experience occurred when she and her father became trapped in a slot canyon in San Rafael Swell, Utah. They had to spend a chilly night isolated trying to survive the elements.

Education

Danser pursued higher education in Ecology and Evolution Biology, reflecting her deep interest in the natural world.

Following her education, she conducted research on insects in West Africa, specifically in Cameroon, where she also spent time as a teacher. She also engaged in humanitarian work, serving as a dental assistant in Guatemala.

Career

Danser completed her certification dives off the island of Oahu with Island Divers Hawaii at age 16. She later established herself in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she worked as a PADI certified divemaster at the Honolulu Scuba Company and Island Divers Hawaii in Hawaii Kai. Her work included leading diving expeditions to shipwrecks and guiding tours of Oahu’s coral reefs. The owner of her own boat, she accumulated over 1,500 nautical miles of open ocean sailing experience

Danser also built a television career based on her interests. She gained public recognition through her appearances on reality television, including the survival show “Naked and Afraid.” She also appeared on “Fight to Survive,”.

Personal Life

Danser lived in Honolulu, Hawaii, staying part-time on a boat at Kewalo Basin.

She is a cancer survivor, having had two bouts with breast cancer. She was first diagnosed in 2020.

Sarah Danser died on October 22, 2024, at the age of 34, following a car accident in Honolulu.

The crash occurred on Diamond Head Road east of Poka Street in Kahala on the night of October 20, 2024. After being transported to the hospital in critical condition, she passed away two days later with her father and brother by her side.
