Nigerian Cross-Dresser Bobrisky Arrested At Seme Border While Trying To ‘Flee’ Nigeria

The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) confirmed the arrest of Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, on Tuesday at the Seme border in Lagos State. The controversial crossdresser was reportedly attempting to leave the country when immigration officials apprehended him at this major crossing point between Nigeria and the Benin Republic.

In a statement released on Monday, the NIS revealed that Bobrisky is currently under interrogation and is being treated as a ‘person of interest’ due to public concerns. The agency assured that he would be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation.

“The Service wishes to inform the public that Okuneye Idris is a person of interest over recent issues of public concern. He is undergoing interrogation and will be handed over to the appropriate authorities for further action. The Service assured the public that it will continue to be civil and professional in its statutory responsibility of manning the country’s borders,” the statement read.

The arrest was initially brought to public attention by activist Martin Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, who shared the news on Instagram.

This development follows recent controversy involving Bobrisky, who was accused in leaked audio recordings of bribing his way out of a prison sentence and having a money laundering case dismissed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), with the help of a ‘godfather.’ Bobrisky has denied these claims, calling them ‘fake’ and threatening legal action against Otse for defamation.
