Ralan Styles, Viral Rapper Behind ‘Baby Shark’ Killed During Attempted Robbery in Columbus

Ralan Styles, an American rapper from Tallahassee Florida known for the viral song ‘Baby Shark’, is dead.

Styles, real name Michael Robinson, was reportedly killed during an attempted robbery early Saturday, October 19 in Columbus Ohio.

According to reports, a suspect attempted snatching Styles’ chain leading to an altercation that devolved into a shooting. Styles was fatally wounded and pronounced dead on the scene by medics.

Police arrested a suspect for the shooting, identified as 24-year-old Mahamood Hassan. A serial offender with previous charges of criminal trespassing and theft, among others, he has been charged with murder.

Ralan Styles’ death was announced by his brother, who shared a snapshot of a news article about his passing.

“My lil brudda died cause a f*ck n***** was hating. Definitely stood on all 10 though,” he said.

Social media users had varied reactions to the news.

He grew up in the Bay Area surrounded by music and developed his own style, taking influences from jazz and funk.
