Ralan Styles, an American rapper from Tallahassee Florida known for the viral song ‘Baby Shark’, is dead.
Styles, real name Michael Robinson, was reportedly killed during an attempted robbery early Saturday, October 19 in Columbus Ohio.
According to reports, a suspect attempted snatching Styles’ chain leading to an altercation that devolved into a shooting. Styles was fatally wounded and pronounced dead on the scene by medics.
Police arrested a suspect for the shooting, identified as 24-year-old Mahamood Hassan. A serial offender with previous charges of criminal trespassing and theft, among others, he has been charged with murder.
Ralan Styles’ death was announced by his brother, who shared a snapshot of a news article about his passing.
“My lil brudda died cause a f*ck n***** was hating. Definitely stood on all 10 though,” he said.
Social media users had varied reactions to the news.

Ralan Styles born Michael Robinson is a popular rapper out of Tallahassee Florida, known for blending melodic trap with contemporary RnB to create his unique blend of hiphop.
He grew up in the Bay Area surrounded by music and developed his own style, taking influences from jazz and funk.
Styles broke out in 2020 when he released a collaboration with Lil Goat titled ‘Dancing with the Devil’. Another project, ‘Its All Good’, managed to gather over a million streams on Spotify, solidifying him as an up-and-comer to watch. He released his debut EP, ‘Rising’, shortly thereafter. He released his debut album ‘Radiance’ in 2021, but 2022 ended up being his breakout year when his track, ‘Baby Shark’ went crazy viral. The song managed to receive ten million streams within weeks and has endured, garnering close to two million views on YouTube.
