Tears Flow At Funeral Of O’Reilly SHS Student Stabbed To Death By Classmate

Published by

The funeral for the late Edward Borketey Sackey, the 18-year-old student from O’Reilly Senior High School, who tragically lost his life following a stabbing on campus, is currently being held at his family home in Spintex, Accra.

It’s a sorrowful reminder of the young life cut short on Monday, September 2, when Edward, a final-year General Arts student, was fatally stabbed by a classmate. The tragic incident occurred on the school premises shortly after Edward had completed his exam. A cousin, who witnessed the heartbreaking event, recounted that the stabbing happened after a fight with a colleague named Godwin.

The altercation began over a trivial argument about whose father was wealthier, escalating into violence. Edward was stabbed three times in the chest and, despite efforts to save him, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

This senseless tragedy has left the community devastated, as they mourn the loss of a young life taken far too soon.
