Sophie Gough, Tennessee Teen’s Tragic Death Mourned by Many

Sophie Gough, a senior at Providence Christian Academy in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, has sadly died, her family has announced. She was 17.

Gough’s cause of death has not been publicly shared by her family but reports indicate it was due to an accident in Rutherford County.

Sophie Gough was a cheerleader for PCA and did so till 9th grade, according to Michelle Thomas, the mother of one of Sophie’s best friends who paid a wonderful tribute to the deceased.

Writing on Instagram, Michelle expressed how devastated she was with news of Gough’s passing and expressed her heartfelt condolences to her grieving family, her parents Chad and Cindy, and sister Ellie. She called for prayers for strength for the family.

“17 years old is way too young to leave this world. Sophie and Jorie have been friends since 3rd grade,” she said of her daughter and Sophie’s relationship. “They’ve cheered together until 9th grade.”

She continued of Sophie’s mom: “Right now, my friend is hurting beyond belief, and I do know what to say or do. I just want to take the pain away…RIP @sophiengough. I hope you get to eat all the crab legs that I can no longer buy you!”

A GoFundMe fundraiser was started for the family to help them in this trying time.

Already, the fundraiser has garnered approximately $12,540 out of a $25,000 goal.

Sophie’s social media pages have been consumed by tribute messages from all those missing her.

“Rest easy pretty girl!! so many people love you!!🕊️🕊️❤️❤️,” read one tribute on her page.
