Ghanaian influencer Gisela Amponsah recently opened up about her difficult relationship with her father during an episode of the “Rants, Bants, and Confessions” podcast. She revealed how her father’s actions had a lasting impact on her, leading to struggles with self-worth and trust during her early years.
In a recent video, she shared her painful experience, saying, “My dad abandoned me when I was young. My mother had to take him to court just to get him to pay my school fees. This is why I hate him.”
Gisela also emphasized how these experiences shaped her views on relationships. “Before I marry any man, I have to have my own money. If he starts misbehaving in the future, I won’t have to suffer with my children like my mom did,” she explained. Her mother had described her relationship with Gisela’s father as once being loving and caring, but things changed after they had two children.
She recounted how her mother had to resort to legal action to ensure her father paid for their education. “The frustration that comes with taking a man to court for your child’s school fees in Ghana is overwhelming,” she said, noting that her mother eventually gave up on the court proceedings due to the challenges involved.
