Kanayo O. Kanayo – Financially Irresponsible Men Have No Right To Intimacy

Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has criticized men who fail to take financial responsibility for their families, making it clear that such men “have no right to intimacy.”

In a post on Instagram, the 62-year-old actor emphasized that being financially responsible is a core duty of marriage. He noted that men are expected to provide for their households through dedication and hard work, a principle grounded in both societal norms and religious teachings.

Kanayo warned that when men neglect this duty, it undermines their role as a provider, which is not just a social expectation but a moral obligation, rooted in sacred texts. He urged women not to protect their husbands from facing financial responsibilities, explaining that doing so only encourages “laziness and irresponsibility.”

The actor also advised young women to be cautious when choosing life partners, stressing the importance of marrying men who fully understand their role and obligations. “I came across a disturbing trend where men rely on others to support them financially. What’s worse is that some women defend their husbands to keep their problems private,” Kanayo remarked.

He added, “But in doing so, they might be stunting his progress. A man’s responsibility is to his family. As we learn from holy scriptures, a man who fails to provide for his household is worse than nothing.”

Kanayo was adamant, saying, “A man who can’t feed his family has no right to engage in intimate relations with a woman. It’s a responsibility. Young women, be mindful of who you marry.”
