All About Zarren Hattery, GCU Honors Student

Published by

Zarren Hattery is a student at Grand Canyon University (GCU) in Phoenix, Arizona.

Hattery, 21, originally from Mesa, entered GCU in fall 2022 on an honors scholarship to study Behavioral Health Science/Business. He previously graduated culinary school and has been described by his mom as a great cook.

Zarren has been an honors student for most of his educational career. He attended the East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT). During his time at the trade school that offers career training programs, he won Third place in the Mise en Place and second place in the Culinary Arts STAR event during a conference.

He was born to Moni and Maiston Hattery, of Mesa. Moni regularly posts about her son on social media, from elementary school all the way through college.

Meanwhile, an alleged student death has rocked GCU. A student was reportedly found dead in their dormitory.

Information is limited and authorities remained tight-lipped on what might have happened. More information is sure to come out in due time but currently, social media is only filled with unconfirmed speculation.
