I Drink Tap Water Everyday So There’s No Evidence Galamsey Is Destroying Our Water Bodies – Lands Minister Abu Jinapor Claims

The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, Samuel Abu Jinapor, has debunked claims that galamsey is destroying Ghana’s water bodies.

Speaking during an interview, the Minister said his tap water remains clean hence he is not seeing the effects of the menace as is being wildly distributed.

Jinapor was asked if he will drink the tap water being produced by galamsey and he replied that his tap water has had no effect.

His comments angered social media users who attacked him.

“Kwasia kasaaa nkoaaaa,” one angry user wrote.

The trending news in Ghana over the past few weeks has resolved around galamsey and its effects.

Several protests have been held against it amidst news that most of Ghana’s largest rivers have all been polluted.

However, the government continues to insist nothing is wrong and that the issue is a political one.

Meanwhile, organized labour have announced that their strike against the government for failing to solve the menace of galamsey commences Thursday, October 10th.
