Ghanaian dancehall artist Shatta Wale has clapped back at Neat FM after they decided to blacklist his music. It all started when Abena Moet, during a show, boldly called for a ban on Shatta’s songs after a fan requested one from her colleague, Ola Michael. She explained that his music didn’t deserve airplay due to the derogatory comments Shatta Wale had made about Dr Osei Kwame Despite, owner of Despite Media.
“I will never play Shatta Wale’s music on this station because he disrespected our boss. He can build his own radio station and play it there”- Abena Moet pic.twitter.com/5Dmk8SikAL

The controversy began after Shatta Wale insulted the businessman, following MzGee’s live discussion with rapper Medikal in May, where Medikal’s marital issues with actress Fella Makafui were addressed.
But Shatta Wale, being Shatta Wale, couldn’t care less. He hopped onto X (formerly Twitter) and laughed off the whole thing. According to him, radio airplay is small change compared to what he’s raking in from digital platforms like YouTube and Apple Music.
In typical Shatta fashion, he wrote: “Herrrhh Neat FM, you guys don’t respect, erh. How much will I even get in cash if you play my song on your radio…😂😂😂 The world has changed oo😂😂, can’t you see!!!! YouTube, Apple Music etc. alone is paying me thousands of dollars more than your village station ooo. It’s sad, but I won all these battles 💪.”
