‘If You Live In Ashanti Region And Vote For John Mahama You’ve Cursed Yourself’ – NAPO

During a rally in Bantama, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, popularly known as Napo, who is the running mate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), made some bold remarks while addressing party supporters. He warned that anyone in the Ashanti Region who supports the campaign of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, would be inviting a curse upon themselves.

Napo accused former President Mahama of showing disregard for people from the Ashanti Region during his tenure by removing key figures from his government who hailed from the region. He cited examples such as former Finance Minister Kwabena Duffuor and former Energy Minister Oteng-Adjei, both of whom were dismissed under Mahama’s administration.

“President John Dramani Mahama, if you live in the Ashanti Region and he comes to you for votes, and you follow him, you have cursed yourself. He is the only president who ended up sacking every person from the Ashanti Region in his government. He dismissed Kwabena Duffuor, Oteng-Adjei, and even Betty Mould Iddrisu from Agona. Who in the Ashanti Region could he work with?” Napo asked, while reminding supporters that Mahama had famously declared he wouldn’t listen to anyone.
