Osofo Kyiri Abosom – “I Will Advocate For Men To Marry At Least Five Wives During My Presidency”

Rev. Kwabena Andrews, popularly known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom, leader of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), has made a bold declaration that he will advocate for men to marry at least five wives if he is elected president.

Speaking in an interview on Kasapa FM, the outspoken politician and pastor argued that the high number of women in the country compared to men justifies his stance. He believes this proposal would help women find partners and improve their livelihoods rather than remaining single.

According to Osofo Kyiri Abosom, there is nothing sinful about polygamy, and it should be embraced in the current times. He pointed out that the Bible does not forbid polygamy, and he plans to push for this practice as part of his agenda to empower families and increase the country’s population.

“When we come into office, I will advocate for men to marry five, six, seven, or even ten wives. There are so many women, who do you expect them to be with? It’s good for society. When men marry more wives, our population will grow as God commanded us to fill the earth. But men should also ensure they are working and earning enough to take care of the women. It is not a sin,” he explained.
