Afrobeats superstar Wizkid, has reignited his long-standing rivalry with fellow artist Davido, sparking fresh controversy on social media.
The renewed clash comes months after the two previously engaged in a spat on X (formerly Twitter), with Wizkid taking jabs at both Davido and Mavin Records’ Don Jazzy back in May.
Tensions flared up again on Tuesday after Davido teased a snippet of his first single for 2024, coinciding with the release date of Wizkid’s much-anticipated track from his upcoming “Morayo” album. Davido had hinted that his song would be a major hit, designed to celebrate Nigeria’s independence.
However, Wizkid didn’t seem impressed, taking to social media to post, “Pussy boys dropping mid again. Una nor dey tire,” in what many fans interpreted as a direct dig at Davido.
This led to a fiery back-and-forth, with one of Davido’s associates accusing Wizkid of using Davido’s name to chase clout. Defending Davido, a fan tweeted at Wizkid, “So if you no beef @davido, your song won’t sell?” further fueling the drama.
