A group of workers from Zoomlion are staging a protest following several months of not receiving their monthly stipends. The workers, who have been struggling to make ends meet, are demanding immediate action from the authorities responsible for their payments.

In a recent interview with Kojo Dickson, the leader of the group expressed her deep frustration over the situation. She revealed that the workers are entitled to a monthly stipend of GHS250, but for the past nine months, they have not received any payments. According to her, the prolonged delay has left many of them in dire financial straits, unable to afford even basic necessities for themselves and their families.

“We are struggling to provide for our families while our bosses seem to be enjoying themselves without concern for our plight,” she said, voicing the collective grievances of the group. She also criticised the inadequacy of the GHS250 monthly stipend, stating that even when payments are made, the amount is insufficient to cover basic living costs. “The salary is too low, and it doesn’t help us in any meaningful way,” she lamented.

The group is calling on all relevant stakeholders to intervene and resolve the issue as soon as possible. They are urging the authorities not only to clear the arrears but also to consider increasing their stipends, so they can pay off their mounting debts and live with dignity.
