Aburi Girls Senior High School Headmistress Dies While Attending Workshop In Rome

The Aburi Girls Senior High School (SHS) in the Eastern Region is in mourning following the sudden passing of its respected Headmistress, Cynthia Anim. This tragic event occurred while she was in Rome, Italy, attending an educational workshop alongside the Deputy Minister of Education, other senior high school heads, and selected students.

Cynthia Anim was a dedicated educator, renowned for her commitment to enhancing the quality of secondary education in Ghana. She was participating in an international workshop aimed at improving educational standards when this unfortunate incident occurred.

In a formal statement, Rev. E.A. Asiedu, the Chairman of the school’s Board of Governors, expressed the profound sorrow felt by students, staff, and parents. He characterized Mrs. Anim as a passionate leader whose vision and efforts greatly contributed to the academic excellence of Aburi Girls Senior High School.

“With the sure hope of the resurrection, we regret to inform all members of the community about the sad and distressing news of our Headmistress, Mrs. Cynthia Anim,” he said. “We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and the entire Aburi Girls Senior High School community.”

In light of this significant loss, an emergency board meeting has been scheduled for Monday, September 30, at 10 a.m. in the school’s Boardroom. The meeting will focus on discussing arrangements and planning the way forward after Mrs. Anim’s passing, ensuring that her legacy continues to inspire the school’s mission.
