A section of Ghanaians have reacted to the statement by NPP MP, Ayew Afriyie that their Government will never stop illegal mining activities, also known as Galamsey.
According to Dr. Ayew Afriyie, who is also a Member of Parliament for Effiduase Asokore Constituency and Middle Belt Campaign Coordinator for the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), his Government has no plans of stopping Galamsey anytime soon.
Despite the serious effects of the Galamsey activities on most lands in some regions in Ghana, it seems Dr Afriyie is acting oblivious because he doesn’t experience the direct negative impact.
Some Ghanaians accused him of having access to potable water and having the money to import more water and food when the galamsey activities eventually take over the lands in the country and ruin all the water bodies.
Some gullible people who probably earn some money from the illegal mining activities were busy clapping for him after he vehemently stated that galamsey activities was not stopping soon.
