Emily Root, Lake Odessa Mother and her Two Daughters Killed In Tragic Accident

A Lake Odessa Fire Department firefighter, Kyle Root, lost his wife Emily and two of their three daughters in a tragic car accident in Michigan on Thursday.

Emily Root’s death occurred in the fatal crash alongside two daughters, Amalia and Shiloh.

She is survived by husband Kyle and daughter, Kylie.

Emily Root, from Grand Rapids Michigan, graduated City High School and proceeded to study Zoology at the Grand Rapids Community College. She studied modelling and acting at the John Casablancas Modeling and Career Center.

Emily married former Spencer Fire Department Fire Captain/EMT Kyle Root, welcoming three kids Kylie, Amalia, Shiloh. Root, a former Lakewood High School and Lansing Community College graduate, currently serves with the Lake Odessa Fire Department.

Following Emily’s death, a meal train has been organized for the family by the LOFD.

“To show our love and support for the Root family after their tragic loss of Emily, Amalia, and Shiloh. Out of respect to Kyle and Kylie privacy this meal train will be delivered to the Lake Odessa Fire Department. We will deliver meals to the family.” the post read.

“Please keep the family of former Captain Kyle Root in your thoughts and prayers. Last night he unexpectedly lost his wife Emily, and two young daughters Amailia and Shiloh in a tragic traffic accident in Michigan. We are deeply saddened to hear of his unimaginable loss and pray for comfort and healing.” Spencer Fire Department said in a message of condolence to their former captain.
