Oliver Barker-Vormawor, Felicity Nelson, and 11 Others Remanded in Police Custody for Two Weeks

An Accra Circuit Court has remanded Oliver Barker-Vormawor, Felicity Nelson, and 11 other members of the Democracy Hub into police custody for two weeks. The group, who pleaded not guilty to the charges, is set to reappear in court on October 8.

Barker-Vormawor faces eight charges, including offensive conduct conducive to the breach of peace and theft, while the remaining 12 members have been charged with six offenses.

During the court proceedings, the judge, Kwabena Obiri Yeboah, denied their bail request but ordered the police to provide proper care for the protesters, following claims that they had been deprived of food for three days. Barker-Vormawor, who had previously missed a court session due to illness, maintained his not guilty plea to all charges.
