Family Demands Justice After Motorcyclist Involved In Accident With Kofi Kinaata Dies

Lawrence Sey, the young motorcyclist involved in a tragic accident with Ghanaian musician Kofi Kinaata, has sadly passed away. His family, devastated by the incident, is calling for justice, as reports suggest that the vehicle Kofi Kinaata was travelling in was responsible for the crash.

Eyewitness accounts and statements from the family of the deceased reveal that the accident occurred when the driver of Kofi Kinaata’s Land Cruiser V8 Prado allegedly veered into the oncoming lane. In an attempt to overtake another vehicle, the SUV collided with Lawrence’s motorbike, dragging him into a nearby pit.

Tragically, Lawrence was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, while his passenger, a senior high school student named Andrews Ansah, sustained serious injuries, including two broken legs.

“The driver left his lane to overtake the motorcyclists. Lawrence was trapped under the car and dragged into a pit,” one eyewitness recounted, describing the tragic moment that led to Lawrence’s death. Another motorbike, following closely behind, narrowly avoided the same fate as its passengers swerved and jumped off in time.

Initially, Kofi Kinaata stated that the motorbike had rammed into their vehicle, claiming both passengers were alive and receiving medical care. This statement, however, has infuriated the family of the deceased.

Lawrence’s family expressed their deep frustration and grief. His uncle voiced his disappointment with Kinaata’s narrative, while his mother, overcome with emotion, shared her pain during an exclusive interview. “He was coming from Agona Nkwanta to Takoradi, and you [Kofi Kinaata] were coming from Takoradi to Nkroful. You left your lane, overtook, and knocked him into a pit. The way my son died, you will die the same way,” she lamented, unable to hold back her anguish.

The accident took place on Sunday, 22 September 2024, in Aboadze, Western Region, while Kinaata was en route to an event in Nkroful. The musician, who emerged unscathed, later took to his official X page to reassure fans that he and his team were safe and in good health.
