Veteran Actress Adwoa Smart Reveals Bullying Forced Her to Drop Out of School

Veteran Ghanaian actress Belinda Naa Ode Oku, better known as Adwoa Smart, has opened up about some of the hardships she faced during her younger years.

Known for her memorable roles in the popular TV shows “Obra” and “Efie Wura,” Adwoa Smart is a well-recognized name in Ghana’s entertainment industry. During an interview on Channel 1 TV’s UPSIDE DOWN show, she discussed why she left school at a young age.

She revealed that constant bullying from her classmates about her small stature made her lose interest in her studies. “I stopped going to school because my classmates were laughing at me because of my size… It got so bad that I didn’t want to attend anymore, so I dropped out,” she shared.

Adwoa Smart also expressed frustration with her teachers, who she felt didn’t step in to help her. “The teachers didn’t support me at all. They should have protected me, but they didn’t,” she added.

When asked why she didn’t enroll in another school, the actress said, “I was too young to make such decisions on my own… If it were today, I would have continued.”
