Sonnie Badu Shares His Journey After The Accident – “Only Three Toes Left on My Right Foot”

Published by

Ghanaian gospel musician Sonnie Badu has opened up about his challenges following a serious accident at his home in 2023.

During a heartfelt conversation with actress Nana Ama McBrown on her Onua Showtime show, Badu addressed speculation that the accident was a ploy for social media attention related to his show, Rhythms of Africa 2023.

He shared the harrowing details of the incident, explaining that he slipped on a staircase while cleaning his mansion, which led to the loss of two toes on his right foot after his leg got caught in a metal guardrail. Rushed to the hospital, he learned from doctors that reattaching his toes was not an option.

In the aftermath of the accident, Sonnie Badu relied on crutches to attend church services and even needed assistance to be carried to radio interviews due to his mobility challenges. He candidly revealed that he struggled with depression for six months as he navigated the emotional and physical toll of the accident.
