A sad video online of how a pregnant woman and her husband were being hauled by the Police for protesting against Galamsey activities has caused a stir online.

The pregnant woman was among the protestors who were hauled before an Accra circuit court and remanded for two weeks for protesting against the Galamsey activities.

The Pregnant woman could be seen resisting arrest following her delicate condition but she was ignored by the Police men that arrested her. A total of 39 protestors were arrested by the police between September 21 and 23, 2024, during the rally.

Those arrested included controversial Ghanaian attorney Ama Governor and Ralph St. Williams, also known as “Fellow Ghanaians”.

Even though the protestors pleaded not guilty to unlawful assembly, unlawful damage, assaulting a police officer, and conspiracy to commit a crime, they were remanded for two weeks in police custody until October 8, 2024.
