Angry Ghanaians slammed the son of the sitting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr George Akuffo Dampare, who is apparently standing to become a student executive.

Joshua Akuffo Dampare, a Medical Student, is standing to be elected as the President of the University Students Association of Ghana (USAG).

Dampare shared some photos to social media which showed him standing in a pensive pose with the caption: “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

His post angered social media users considering the current climate in which anti-galamsey protestors were arrested by the Ghana Police Service and been remanded into custody for two weeks.

Many of them came for both Joshua and his father’s neck in his comments.

“When your daddy comes home tonight, tell him he’s a bloodsucking idiot,” one netizen wrote.

Another wrote: “Dem say how things dey go dei3 unless you stand for SU President ooo”

Another said: “Make the people vote massively against him. We don’t need any resemblance of Addo Dee anywhere near Leadership for this yard………”
