Ewurama Dua Anto, the wife of the late celebrated gospel singer KODA, has paid a heartfelt tribute to her husband, who passed away in April this year. KODA, whose full name was Kofi Owusu Dua Anto, was laid to rest in a solemn ceremony on Friday, September 20.
In her tribute, Ewurama fondly recalled her cherished memories with KODA, highlighting his unwavering love and care for their children. “I will always bless the day I met you. We shared both happy and sad moments that forged a bond between us that words cannot fully express,” she said.
Ewurama praised KODA as the ideal husband and father, saying, “You were the best of husbands any wife could pray for and the best of fathers any child could wish for. You were a good man, my sweet. I am forever grateful to God that I found you.”
She also expressed her faith in her late husband’s “excellent service to God,” believing that his passing would lead to “more souls being won” for Christ, as KODA’s life was always centered on his faith. “As believers, we rejoice knowing you are alive in heaven. Praise be to Jesus who died to give us eternal life, knowing that one day we will all be together again,” she added.
Ewurama continued, “Till we meet again, sweetie, we will miss you. But I am comforted by the hope that we shall once again see your walk, hear your talk, and enjoy your smile. Rest in perfect peace, my love.”
KODA, who died on April 24 at the age of 45, is survived by his wife and two children. His musical legacy includes popular hits such as “Nsempii,” “Nkwa Abodoo,” “Yapai,” and “Adorso.”
The burial service took place at the Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) in Spintex, with many gospel musicians, including Joe Mettle, Nacee, Elder Mireku, Sonnie Badu, and Diana Hamilton, in attendance to pay their final respects to their beloved brother.
