Julie LeBlanc, GoFundMe for Wilmington Nurse Following Unexpected Death Raises Over $50k

A GoFundMe fundraiser 52-year-old nurse who unexpectedly died in Wilmington Massachusetts, Julie LeBlanc, has quickly raised a stunning $50,000 for her surviving family.

LeBlanc died on September 16, 2024, at the Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge. No cause of death has been publicly revealed.

Her death which came out of the blue stunned her family and friends but they quickly rallied to raise funds for her surviving family to cushion the blow of their loss.

The resulting fundraiser quickly largely met its $55,000 goal.

Julie LeBlanc was an ICU nurse at Mount Auburn Hospital in Cambridge, according to her obituary. Born in Somerville MA, she graduated Somerville High School in 1990 and continued on to UMass Boston where she earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing.

LeBlanc, maiden name Herra, married Derek LeBlanc in 2000 and welcomed three children together – Ryan, Adam, and Alexis. She had a twin sister, Janice.

Her demise sparked off a wave of several tributes on social media as people remembered her for her beautiful personality.

“It is very difficult to try to imagine a world without Julie in it. I will miss you and your laughter and your bright shining light,” one tribute read.
