Afia Pokua Apologizes To Asantehene For ‘Damaging’ Remarks Made

Published by

Afia Pokua, a prominent media personality on Onua TV, has publicly issued an apology to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II and the Asanteman Council following controversial remarks she made on the Biribi Gyegye Wo show.

In her apology, Afia expressed deep regret for her words, stating: “I unreservedly and unconditionally apologize to His Royal Majesty the Asantehene and, by extension, the Asanteman Council for my distasteful remarks made on the ‘Biribi Gyegye Wo’ show aired on Saturday, 14th September 2024 on Onua TV.”

This apology comes after she initially criticized the Asantehene for not using his influence to address societal issues, instead engaging in disputes such as the one with Dormaahene. During the same show, she had also emphasized the need for an end to tribalism in Ghana, calling for unity among all tribes and urging Ghanaians to stop promoting Asante superiority over others.
