Elliott Kropf, New Canaan High School Announces Death of Hockey Star

A New Canaan High School senior and hockey star, Elliot Kropf, has died, the school announced in a statement.

Kropf’s death occurred on Saturday, September 14th, 2024. A cause of death was not announced.

The New Canaan community is mourning the sudden death of high school senior Elliott Kropf, who died last night,” Superintendent Bryan Luizzi said in a statement Sunday.

“Elliott was a strong student, an excellent athlete, a kind young man, and a wonderful friend, and he will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him,”

Kropf, of New Canaan CT, played varsity hockey for the New Canaan High School Wildcats. The forward was an instrumental part of the Wildcats in his junior year as they romped to a 22-3 record.

Tributes poured in for the deceased and Superintendent Luizzi revealed resources were being made available for traumatized students.

My heart breaks for Elliott, his family, and all who knew and loved him. Together, let’s keep them all in our thoughts and prayers as we support one another during this challenging time.” he concluded his statement.
