Mason Prima, a 17-year-old high school senior at The Dunham School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has died, shocking his family and friends.
Prima’s death occurred on Friday, September 13, 2024, in a reported car accident on East Mason Street in Baton Rouge LA. His family has not confirmed his cause of death.
The 17-year-old was described as ‘full of life’ and ‘always smiling’. He loved 90’s country music, Lil Wayne, hunting and fishing, and was a sportsman. Mason played soccer and football and was on the varsity Dunham Football team for two seasons.
News of his death stunned many who took to social media to pay their respects.

“Please go hug your kids and be thankful you get to have them aggravate you today. Close friends are going through the unimaginable right now. Losing their handsome sweet boy last night,” one post read.
In light of his passing, a GoFundMe was started to raise money to help the family in dealing with the tragedy. The fundraiser had totalled $9,230 out of its $20,000 goal at the time of publication.
Mason Prima was born on May 23, 2007 to Christy Blackwell Gomez and Victor Prima. He is survived by his parents, Christy and Victor, his siblings, Karlee and Ava, and others.
