Emily Gold, a 17-year-old senior at Los Osos High School has died, her tragic manner of death sparking grief and shock in the Rancho Cucamonga community.
Gold’s death was revealed via a message sent out to parents and students.
She reportedly died on September 13th. Her cause of death was reportedly via suic*de after jumping onto the 210 Freeway around 11:50 pm the night on Friday.
A female pedestrian jumped off an overpass east of the Haven Avenue and landed on the Eastbound 210 Freeway. Multiple vehicles reportedly passed over her and she was pronounced dead on the scene. Numerous social media posts identified the deceased as Emily Gold. Authorities are yet to officially release her identity.

Gold was a senior at Los Osos High School and was present on both the Varsity Dance Team and Cheer squad. She was a talented gymnast, according to the mother of one of her fellow gymnasts.
“From the moment I saw her on the stage, I knew she had found her calling! Time stopped when you watched her dance. She was in her element. It was like she’d been doing it her whole life,” Janet Womack said.
Womack added condolences for the Gold family, particularly her mother Brandy Gold who she knew.
Emily Gold is survived by her mother, Brandy Gold, her father, and her brother. Following her death, the school has made resources and counselors available to speak with all students having difficulty handling the tragedy.
Meanwhile, a GoFundMe has been set up for the Gold family to help in dealing with the tragedy. As of the time of publication, about $15,976 had been raised.
