Trista Stordahl, Former MMA Child Prodigy Killed In Car Accident

Trista Stordahl, a former MMA child prodigy from Atascadero, California, has tragically died in a car accident.

Stordahl’s death occurred on September 12th, 2024, according to a GoFundMe started to raise funds for her funeral and memorial fund.

Trista ‘Firecracker’ Stordahl started mixed martial arts as a child and was identified as a prodigy at just age 5. By age 14 she was fighting in and winning tournaments, leading to feature length articles being written about her in San Luis Obispo where her family lived.

Stordahl won the United States Fight League Championship in the 140-pound weight class in November 2017 at age 14. She had trained in among others, Muay Thai, Kumite, Jiu-Jitsu and Hawaiian Kempo.

She graduated Atascadero High School and received her college degree three years ago. Stordahl continued to train and fight MMA until her tragic demise in a car accident in September 2024.

The fundraiser for her funeral has so far raised circa $5,000.

“I ask you to pray for Tim, Tierra, and their entire family who are certainly reeling from this tragedy. We know how close they are, and how generous with their love, time, and resources this family has always been. Please give generously,” Staci Emmack, who started the fundraiser, wrote on GoFundMe.
