Lil Wayne Reacts To Super Bowl Halftime Snub – ‘It Hurt A Lot’

Published by

American rapper Lil Wayne has shared his disappointment after being passed over for the Super Bowl LIX halftime show in favor of Kendrick Lamar. In an Instagram video, the New Orleans native admitted that the snub “broke” him, as he had mentally prepared himself to perform in his hometown. He explained, “I blame myself for automatically mentally putting myself in that position… so it hurt.”

Several fellow artists, including Nicki Minaj and Master P, expressed their frustration with the decision, suggesting that Wayne, a New Orleans icon, should have been the performer. Despite the setback, Wayne thanked his supporters, saying, “It broke me… but my God, have you all helped me.” He remains hopeful for a future opportunity, with his sights set on possibly headlining the 2025 Super Bowl halftime show.
