Akwaboah: I Won’t Write Songs for Political Parties, But I’m Open to Performances

Ghanaian musician Akwaboah has made it clear that he currently has no intention of composing songs for political parties, unlike some of his peers in the industry as Ghana’s 2024 elections approach.

In an interview with Abeiku Santana on Okay FM, the talented musician shared that while he’s open to performing at political events if contacted, he would not be creating specific campaign songs for any political group.

The singer explained that his decision is based on not wanting to be politically labeled, noting that performing for political parties would purely be a business move, with no deeper affiliations.

Akwaboah also emphasized that he would prefer to create music that promotes unity in Ghana rather than something divisive. He stated that if the song doesn’t help the country, he simply wouldn’t do it, choosing instead to focus on songs that bring the nation together.
