Twene Jonas has descended with anger on the Asantehene once again over the issue of galamsey and its destructive effects on Ghanaian society.

Over the past few weeks, pressure has been mounting on the government to fight galamsey with seriousness as most of the rivers in the central, middle and western parts of the country have been turned into muddy streams by galamsey.

Amidst this fight, Twene Jonas has taken aim at one of his favourite targets, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

According to Jonas, Otumfuo claims to have power yet has watched on helplessly as water bodies and farmland under his jurisdiction have been destroyed by galamsey.

Jonas slammed Otumfuo for being either scared or powerless to attack the President and Chairman Wontumi for their complicity in galamsey.

According to Jonas, past Asantehenes fought real battles to keep the kingdom and country together with some of them even going toe-to-toe with Europeans yet this Otumfuo is scared of ‘common’ Akufo-Addo and Wontumi.
